Rolled & Welded Steel Plate Examples

A514 T1 Cone Press Formed
A514 T1 quench and tempered 100 ksi minimum yield high strength steel plate is formed in halves. The sections are then fit and welded to complete the cone.

A572 Cone HSLA Steel Plate
A572 grade 50 HSLA steel plate press formed in halves to yield a cone. The angle and the very small minor diameter dictate that cone is press formed in sections instead of rolled and welded in a plate bending roll.

Aluminum Plate Cone Formed Welded
Aluminum 6061-T6 plate 1 inch thick is formed as 180 degree sections, fit and welded to make a full 360 degree cone. Successfully forming heavy aluminum cones requires a thorough understanding of the chemical and physical properties of the material.

AWWA C208 Mitered Reducing Elbow
Arntzen rolls and welds mitered reducing elbows to AWWA C208 dimensions. Steel plate is shape cut in the flat and rolled to make each reducing elbow gore.

Galvanized Wall Sleeve Flange Spool
Rolled and welded cylinder with AWWA C207 ring flanges making a spool to cast in place as a wall sleeve.

Cylinder Pipe Flange Pump Tube
Steel plate rolled and welded for a pump tube sump with support plate. Cylinder seams are double submerge arc welded (DSAW) with automatic seam welding.

Furnace Shell Refractory Smoke Stack
Cylinders for high temperature applications such as furnace shells, smokestacks and refractory lined shells.

Sheet Gauge Cone Formed Point
Rolled sheet and stainless cones are press formed to a near point. The cones halves or third sections are fit together and shipped as tack only or welded seam.

Steel Plate Cone Formed Section
Steel plate cone half with tangents which was press formed. Larger thinner cone halves can be rolled in plate bending rolls which eliminates the brake lines and makes a smoother surface.

Short Radius Pipe Elbow Flange
This short radius smooth 90 degree butt weld elbow is fabricated with forged flanges ANSI/ASME B16.5 drilling. Then coated with a Tnemec system.

Pipe Manifold Lateral Branch Wye
Arntzen rolls and welds large diameter pipe fittings including wyes, laterals and branches. These are also used for water service manifolds and headers.

Steel Cylinders Rings Segments Cones
Arntzen rolls a wide variety of steel cylinders, rings, segments and cones.

Roll Form Bend Steel Plate
Rolling steel plate with formed 90 degree bends. Parts with multiple radii and tangents are routine for Arntzen.

Steel Alloy Plate Forming Rolling
Arntzen forms and rolls most steel plate grades, alloys and high strength low alloy. Also high strength and abrasion resistant too.

Tall Steel Cone Welded Section
A36 steel plate rolled and welded cone made from multiple courses. Each cone was rolled in a different Bertsch or Webb plate roll because the minor diameter dictated.

Wide Steel Plate Bending Rolls
Arntzen operates many sets of 20 Ft wide steel plate bending rolls.

T1 High Strength Cone Section
Formed cone section with tangents made from A514 T1 high strength steel plate. U-shape cone halves with tangents are commonly made from high strength and abrasion resistant steel plate.

Steel Cone Shape Welded Transition
Complicated steel transitions are press formed using a combination of cylindrical, conical, elliptical and oblong shapes. The geometry is accurately engineered to produce the correct miters and size reductions.
