Nickel Alloy Specifications

Arntzen offers fabricated rolled components & shapes utilizing different types of nickel alloy, including:

  • Monel 400—Monel is a nickel-copper alloy with excellent corrosion resistance, good weldability, and moderate to high strength. Monel 400 is used in a variety of applications yet proves exceptional in seawater and high temperatures. It can be readily fabricated by cold- or hot- working, welding, and machining.
  • 625 Inconel—Inconel 625 is a nickel-chromium alloy with exceptional resistance to corrosion cracking and pitting. This alloy can withstand inorganic acids such as hydrochloric, phosphoric, sulfuric, and nitric acid.

What Are The Benefits of Nickel Alloy?

Nickel alloy is formed by combining nickel with other metals, such as copper, titanium, iron, aluminum, and chromium. Nickel alloy is highly valued for its ability to retain yielded strength when exposed to extremely high temperatures that can access above 1200°F. This superalloy provides corrosion resistance, acid resistance, and extreme wearability. Nickel alloy is commonly found in industrial applications that undergo extreme stress. Many nickel-based alloys offer high oxidation resistance and longevity above 20 years.

Applications for Nickel Alloy Rolled Shapes

Nickel alloy is used in industrial applications, including aircraft, pharmaceuticals, building materials, food preparation equipment, transportation, etc. For over 65 years, Arntzen is a top-rated customer-recommended steel fabricator for the Illinois and Midwest area. We continue to grow strong partnerships with industrial industries, including:

  • Agriculture
  • Construction
  • Oil & Gas
  • Military
  • Nuclear Power
  • Transportation
